Meet Douglas Justice:
Douglas Justice is Associate Director, Horticulture & Collections at UBC Botanical Garden. He teaches in UBC’s Landscape Architecture program and in the Garden’s Horticulture Training Program. Douglas’s early passion for plants led him into tropicals, then outdoor plants, nursery work and gardening, then degrees in horticulture and botany, which spurred him to pursue a career in teaching and public garden management. He wrote the handbook Ornamental Cherries in Vancouver with the help of Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival volunteers, and among other horticultural writing, authored the text for the iOS mobile app, Vancouver Trees. A volunteer with the Cherry Blossom Festival since its inception, Douglas first became interested in ornamental cherries as a teenager, wandering Vancouver’s then much less-crowded, cherry-lined streets.
This event is made possible with support from RIZE.
